Following on from the recent disruption of the old site we at UKCT have taken the decision to release the new site in its BETA state. Please be advised that not all features are fully implemented yet but rest assured they are coming.

In terms of whats different from the old one you can now do the following:

- Edit your own comments (view them and double click to edit); we know this was one of the big requests from people so this has been included.
- Player transfer; there is now a player transfer list so we can highlight who has moved where and you can check which teams players have been part of.

The rest is pretty much the same but after the problems with the old site we would advise everyone to change their passwords immediately or create a new account.

On another note, with a new UKCT comes a new plan of action and therefore any unnecessary comments, any racism and any direct abuse that are pointed out to an admin will result in accounts being banned.

MeetYourMakers have took the decision to shut down their CS Source section of the organisation with immmediate effect. "MYM" have now shown a clear stance in the way they perceive the future of CS Source.

MYM released:

Back in 2007 we took in the Danish Counter-Strike Source team from H2K, mostly to secure a top team for a potential swift between CS 1.6 and CSS amongst the global events. Since none of the events have replaced CS 1.6 with CSS and most likely won't ever, we have lost believe in game and are therefore closing down the division to focus on other upcoming games and the ones we already have.
The team has performed well while being in MYM, until the recent roster changes and it would most likely have had a 80% lineup change, which made the decision easier as we won't start from scratch within a game that by us no long is considered a professional game with a future.
MYM, the CSS team and its players are parting ways in a good and quiet way and we would like to thank them for their efforts as a CSS team while being in MYM. We wish them all the best and good luck with their future careers within eSports.

cZar Gaming organisation announced a couple of days ago that they have picked up SGL:invite team strOng.

The team finished 5th-6th at Wired Inn 3 last weekend and are participating in the SGL's pay-to-play Pro League.

Yesterday a Swedish newspaper PUNKT SE published an article that confirmed many rumours. The article has outlined plans for a new league called Esports League of Champions (ELC). The idea has come from the creators of the WCG organisation and promises to be packed with excitement. The league will take place on a live platform in front of a live audience. Within a TV studio, which is estimated to cost over £ 400,000 each game will be broadcasted over the internet and the organisers are planning to pitch the idea to TV companies in a bid to secure Esports future with TV.

The article goes on to other details. Post match interviews, a fan zone and a large prize fund reaching £ 120,000 and £ 20,000 for the winners of the 1.6 tournament. Organisers have also confirmed they will supply flights for the 8 invite only teams such as:

The first season of the ELC is scheduled for spring this year and if it becomes a success then we could see further seasonal seasons taking place.
