MiBR shakeup

Posted by hokakll on the 1st of September 2008 at 2:12 AM in Team News    33 Comments

Following from a disappointing ESWC event last week, bra mibr have announced a change for the WCG qualifiers.

mibr crashed out of the second group stages, way below their expectations of at least 4th place in San Jose. Although they won Gamegune earlier in the Summer, changes have been made to assure that they do not disappoint again.

bra Lance, bra btt and bra cky have been removed from the line-up, and to replace them are bra cogu, bra nak and bra fnx. The three have been mibr members before, but made the transition to CGS team bra Rio Sinistro back in May.

Manager Leandro Loiola said:

Our goal was ESWC, where we performed below expectations. Being eliminated in the second phase of a competition like ESWC made us rethink our goals for the remainder of 2008 and 2009.

We first looked at the players that had to join. With cogu, nak and fnx we had won our biggest trophies. Bit had been part of our success for the past two years and he is undoubtedly one of the players that has improved the most during this time. And ton is in great form, he has been very important in decisive games.

It is hard to know what will happen from now on. Our intention is to close a team, and with it win tournaments once again. We are already training for WCG Brazil, which will be in two weeks' time.

The team is now:

bra Bruno "bit" Lima
bra Wellington "ton" Caruso
bra Raphael "cogu" Camargo
bra Lincoln "fnx" Lau
bra Renato "nak" Nakano

It is not yet known whether the move will be permanent or not. We will see this line-up at WCG Brazil qualifiers in 2 weeks time. Good luck.

A new Counter-Strike/CSS season begins today on 4playGaming along with the debut of Open Challenges. To celebrate we have created a series of Open Challenges against The Official 4playGaming Team, so if you fancy getting some easy points then jump on board and accept one of our matches.

Open Challenges are the new, easy way to arrange matches – you make the rules! Just create a fixture for the date and time that you are available, and anyone can accept it! You can also view and accept the Open Challenges that other teams have created. Of course, you can still arrange fixtures in the original way (Direct Challenges) if you wish.

We hope that this great new feature will make arranging matches much easier, and encourage our teams to be more active.

Make sure you’ve got your Steam ID and XAC GUID assigned to your account, and then you can start creating Open Challenges in both team and 1v1 leagues.

If you haven't registered with us already then hop on over to 4playGaming.com - you'll be up and running in minutes!
