Tonight at 9pm dignitas take on justplay in the Extreme Masters competition. The first map will be de_inferno and a Best of Three format will apply. Dignitas currently sit 6th in their group after narrowly losing to XLBet.ATS. justplay! are lying in 7th place after losing heavily to powerhouses MYM. You can find more on the groups here.

syNergy have announced the removal of their team. It seems a number of players recruited from eSports-United team have been under investigation for a while following a series of allegations and claims that the team was cheating during officials. After careful consideration and further investigation from syNergy management its evident some of the players are cheating. Clanbase have also confirmed the removal of the team from Opencup 2008 and banned 2 players from competing for a 12 month period.

Clanbase:

"We are sad to announce that team syNergy-Gaming have been caught cheating in our cup and will therefore be disqualified from the competition. Players Micky Burr AKA TheMoneyBroker and BA, both from syNergy-gaming were caught cheating (using wallhack) in their groupstage matches versus stfu!, Team sYnck and Running With Scissors.is. The team will therefore be removed from the cup as per section 9.2 of the Cup Rules

Didge had this to say:

A few friends had warned me about the cheating allegations surrounding the eSports-United team and I naively misplaced my trust with esu captain sicKboy. After I learned the team was under investigation for cheating I decided to look into it myself and found a couple of players was actually cheating so I had no option to remove the team.

I cannot condone any form of cheating, it was a very easy decision for me to make. I don't feel angry for what has happened but I do feel pity for people who feel they have to gain an improper advantage over others.

It does turn out other members of the team can support convicted cheaters especially sicKboy, who has a lengthy reputation for playing alongside cheaters and he has proven once again he approves of cheating.

I do urge players, teams and tournaments to boycott these individuals. It does consume a lot of time to investigate potential cheaters. The amount of complications incurred is significant, my advice would be to avoid the players save your time and protect your reputation. Allowing these players to participate in the community is a negative image which you really do not want. So do yourself a favour and avoid these pathetic people and enjoy your game without wasting your time on these cheaters.

Hi Ct-R can you please introduce yourself to the readers.

Good morning UKCT. My name's Tom Samari and I play for UK Counter-Strike team straightsix.

You play for Straighsix, tell us about your fellow clanmates.

The s6 lineup is arch1e, immuNe, Murdy, RazeH & Ct-r. We've not been playing together for too long now but everything is slowly falling into place. Any minor problems in or out of game have been depleted and we're on our way to becoming real dignitas contenders Also the team is such a great bunch of guys I get along with them all really well.. apart from Murdy who is a bit of a dick really.

You guys just recently went out of the Clanbase Opencup in the group stages, why do you think this was? Does this have anything to do with the UK scene compared to that of the other European nations?

Well the 2 games we lost in CB were against don'Touch of France and a-Losers of Germany. We were 12-3 up against donTouch after a strong CT half then fell apart T side. We made some stupid mistakes and were ultimately our own downfall.

The final game of our group was vs a-Losers. We knew going into the game we'd need a strong start to really mark our presence and show we can compete with these teams. By the end of the first half we were 12-3 down and in bad shape. We managed to pull it back to 13-15 before a-Losers clinched the winning round.

In all honesty we shouldn't be losing to those two teams. We know we're better than them and i'm confident if we ever played them again the score line would be different

What do you think the UK scene requires in order to progress and to be able to have more than one team beating these teams regularly in officials?

1.) The return of the SGL leagues will have such a positive impact on the scene.

- More officials will be played, thus improvement in skill plus a better basis to create rankings from.
- Gives teams something to play for as well as providing a solid schedule for teams to practice around.

An end of season LAN would be incredible. Similar in format to the old CSGN end of season LANs.. this would create a regular series of LAN events for teams to improve in that particular environment. (Even if there were no prizes it'd still be beneficial for everybody)

2.) More LANs in general. Teams don't receive praise from online accolades. There are so many UK teams that have the potential to contend with dignitas for #1 UK, but don't get the necessary regular LAN exposure to make the jump. I don't think anyone will beat dignitas until we see an increase in LAN events.

The whole pcw hierarchy sucks too. Nobody in Europe rates anybody in the UK so (as i'm sure FtD/h5/TLR will agree) they just refuse to play any UK team that isn't dignitas. Sort of a catch 22 really

3.) Better Network Infrastructure. UK internet is shit.

I was away in the marines on tour in Sierra Lione for 6 months then Iraq for 4 months, just back a while ago so givin cs a little bash.

Do you have any words to say with regards to thanking the guy on serving for his country?

adulki really is the man we should all aspire to become. Gaming god, national boxing AND football champion & now battling for his country in IRL's hardest map, Sierra Leone. And all this before he's legally allowed to drink or drive. Massive.

Following a spell of inactivity and frustration with a team that was under achieving, Brandon has been searching high and low for players to help revamp the Validus lineup. After leaving their old team name behind and looking for a fresh start with the new SGL season loaming, and the promise of IG6 being thrown into the mixer, today sees the the creation of MANTiC!

I caught up with Brandon and asked him about his new found drive for success with this new lineup.

So Brandon, what made you decide to create this new lineup?

Hi there, I've decided to make this lineup because we are ready to take on the "top 10 UK" teams

What do you hope to achieve as a team in the coming weeks and months? Is this a team you have put together for the long haul?

Tbh i think we should be back to winning online heroes and finally getting our fucapo that half the old validus we're owed? And to strike fear into the hearts of the UK players. Also maybe attend some LANs if any are going to happen. No Starkey, we're not going to fold in a week, prick.
