A new year and more team changes for the Polish CS squad from MYM with the return of a familiar face. After sighting a lack of drive and hunger to win the team brought in pionas to replace kuben but it has now been confirmed a reversal has taken place.

The team goes back to the winning ESWC line-up with the following:

It will be interesting to see if this return to previously stable and familiar ground will help them once again achieve greatness or whether it is a case of too little too late.

The UKeSA have sent out a press release today noting that they have extended the signups for the Championship division until next week due to a number of teams having difficulty with the site. The full statement is below:

2nd February 2009 (London, UK) – The United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA), the official governing body for competitive gaming in the UK, will be extending Open and Championship Division registrations until Friday, 13th February 2009.

The revised timeline is as follows:

Sunday 8th February ‘09 (2359 hrs):
- Squads counted towards the Premiership Division games.
- Championship Division sign-ups remain open until 13th February.
Tuesday 10th February ‘09:
- Premiership Division games types announced.
- £35,000 prize fund allocation across all games and Divisions (including Premiership Division retainer) confirmation.
Friday 13th February ‘09:
- Premiership Division Teams announced.
- All Season One League sign-ups closed.
Monday 16th February ‘09:
- Season One League matches start.
- Season One Cup sign-ups open.
Monday 23rd February ‘09:
- Sign-ups close for the Season One Cup events.
Monday 24th February ‘09:
- Community Council election starts.

As a reminder, if you want to take part at the Championship level and help CS 1.6 potentially become a Premiership game you need to register your team for the Championship division, have a full roster with complete steamids for all players and have paid the £7.49 entrance fee due for each player.

Tonight at 8PM GMT, defending champions TROJAN! take on new challengers. They recently beat their challengers in the SGL: Season 9 Invite division, 16-11. However, with a new lineup and more training, will Veritas prove more difficult to beat, especially across a potential three maps?

After losing GeT_RiGhT to fnatic and reports linking moddiii to Giants on a trial basis it has now been confirmed he has become a permanent fifth player for the team.

Giants managed some outstanding results recently and I am sure the loss of GeT_RiGhT will have hit them hard but hopefully their new line-up with moddiii will be able to comeback and prove they are one of the main Swedish contenders. This confirmation therefore leaves the team looking like this:
