fnatic love being top H@
getting paid to play the game we live for. dream come true.
u gotta remember thats WINNINGS not wages
21st.
vitalsigns - £375
tbh thats 10k each (for fnatic assuming the management doesnt get their share or has already deducted it) on top of the 1k-1.5k (assuming again) salary they get per month...20-25k aint bad tbh...
22nd. mirror gayming - £125
From when to when have they earned this?
doubt they get as much as £1000 a month in wages...
what you doubt and what you kno are two very different things.
now foad.
@h Young Aliaser
you're just another Gamer scared of Me.
oh shut the fuck up wicked. u come on this site and you dont even play the game.
geeeeeeeek
20th FtD £400
we made £127.500 this year from prize money in source, from August 2007 to August 2008 and people try and say its more profitable playing 1.6. Thats with it being taxed and cuts taken from our organisation aswell, with our wages as a team we've made around £202,500.
Rattlesnk, it maybe more profitable playing source, i dont think any players from css or 1.6 have doubted that, but for us players that have not 'gone pro' 1.6 is still the way forward....
Doesn't most of that money come from one big win though? Would it be true to say that more teams in 1.6 make money even if it is less than that made playing source? (Genuine question, i don't know the answer=P)
well yea, I would think there are more teams in 1.6 with 3-5k amounts won but thats because theres more tournaments in their home countries throughout the year which they only go to and win. Its the top of the table where Fnatic/MYM/Mouz win the only big tournaments of the year like WCG and ESWC whereas ours came from the two CGS Seasons. Although in the next month we have 3 tournaments for 1k each, and we've won like 5 tournaments for £1000 in the last year and other small tournaments. There's been two CGS seasons over the year period were covering as well, so its the equivelant of having ESWC and WCG for source.
is that total gained as a team (i.e. Salvo), or specifically competing as Salvo.css?
also, how does your total compare to other CGS teams - i.e. how much does Salvo winning CGS cost the other teams...if the earnings difference is huge, then your point is moot, since different teams will win it each year (most likely), implying earnings are just sporadic...
So you've earn't about £20k each basically RattlesnK? Or does the manager or anyone else other than the organisation have any sort of share?
I heard it was 22k from the tourny plus wages which is about 14k each i think..
so 36k
Scared of your fat ugly double chinned, mono-brow, big eard egg shaped head!
thats just for our source team, we earnt £15,500 so far and £3,000 later on next year from US Inland Revenue for winning CGS, from other tournaments we've won about £8,000 per player throughout the year. As a salvo CS player we've earnt at least £25,000 this year from prize money each. We missed a few tournaments over the summer while we were away, but in the next month theres quite a few tournaments in quick succession like 1.6 has over the summer.
Eurokrieg - 1st Place £5000
ESL Pro Series UK 1st Place £5000, £100 match bonus for a win
PCgamer - 1st Place £5000
ESL Masters Series CSS - 1st Place £3000
Multiplay i35 - 1st Place £5000
cy@ 1.6
thats a sweet amount man...i would still like to know how much the other teams, who didnt win CGS, made...i'm sure a CSS money league will come out shortly.
Are your contracts publicly available RattlesnK - I wouldn't mind taking a peek at the T&C's...out of curiosity ofc...
Not belittling what people have made from after all playing a computer game and having a laugh. But there is no doubt you are better off getting a degree and then getting a "proper job" if you're interested in money (yes i know there are lots of well paid jobs you can do that dont' require degrees or a levels or whatever, but you get what i mean).
Im going to university to study law in september, you can manage both even though it can be quite difficult, just treat it as a job like most other students have on a few evenings a week to make money.
RattlesnK- on September 3, 2008, 2:30 pm.
I don't think the contracts are publicly available, but here's a list of money made by the other franchises inside of CGS over the two seasons prize money.

With extreme masters stepping in with 3 global challenges and few continental finals the prize money would increase a lot, not comparing at all with CGS.
Global challengel prize money of $80K inc wow (3 of these)
Continental finals = $80k aswell including wow
plus the usual ESWC WCG Kode5 GameGune ECL will be starting soon which will try to get rights to brodcast 1.6 on tv it is done by WCG people , there building a TV stage in sweden, so hopefully big money coming towards 1.6.
25k not bad for playing a game. Jealous.
Nice info on theCGS Rattlesnk.
i think when you all grow up you'll realise 25k is actually a bit shit. I realise most people here are students, and a 1k/term student loan is massive (i was like that recently)
Fair play to salvo css, they're doing fairly ok for themselves, but fnatic, the top top 1.6 earners who spend hours practising this damn game...have won 50k prize money this year (i doubt this all goes to them anyway) between the 5 of them, plus some poxy salary. Worth it in the long run? Fuk no
I'd be happy with £1,000 a month for playing CS altho i'd feel like a waste of space
yeah 25k isnt that much in terms of annual salary for the rest of your life but rattle is gonna be a student and has jus earnt 25k, more than he would have from any job so thats pretty good if you ask me
ESL Pro Series for CSS isn't eligible for CGS teams though so Salvo can't play, I'm informed of this by Ritch, The london mint superstar.
hehe^ thats true, 25k is pretty balls in the real world, but most of the guys who are playing and earning this money are probably still living at home and not paying rent...

I'm also sure they have jobs during the day even if its part time.
Rattlesnk, I know deep inside you wish it was 1.6 you was playing though
very nice of you to come on and shed some light with regards the finances sam.
tbh he's earned enough there to probs put himself through a couple of years Law school not to mention what he will earn in he future, he's playing a game getting a degree.
Not to mention traveling to amazing locations around the world.
While most people on here are playing a game getting a degree AND working
ppl saying the money they make isn't that much, it's not like they're gonna be playing for the rest of their lives and never get a real job, it's just like if u take a few gap years before going to uni etc.. except they're getting paid to do it and flying around the world for free playing a game they enjoy
Did SK Ladies make more than the male team?
hahaha yea i'd say so wasn't it 7.3k for eswc 1st place ladies?
does it look good on a CV?
i doubt it.
in other words those years are kinda wasted with regards to building up a good CV for a future job....
yadig?
i dunno does working in tescos
yadig?
you just got murked by gawnie, LATE.
